On the afternoon of April 26, 2025, the BPK Penabur Cirebon school hall became a gathering place for invited guests and the event committee to hold the closing service of Cirebon Bible Week 2025. Even though it was raining heavily, the enthusiasm of the invited guests and the committee was unwavering.
Worship begins with praise and worship led by a team of praisers. The music flows gracefully, in a rhythmic pattern that combines with the sounds of the bass, guitar and keyboard. Everything becomes a beautiful composition that invites people to praise God, creating a solemn and devout atmosphere.
The reflection of God's Word was delivered by Mr. Pastor Wim Brataatmaja, who emphasized the importance of sacrifice in ministry. He explained that ministry requires sacrifice of time, feelings, energy, and other sacrifices. As true Christians, we should emulate Mary's response in the Bible, when God willed her to carry out His plan. We must have the principle "Let it be done to me according to Your will" in carrying out our ministry.
Mr. Pastor Wim also quoted a verse from Colossians 3:23, as one of the verses that can strengthen our enthusiasm in serving God. "Whatever you do, do it as for the Lord, not for men." He emphasized that we must focus on God in our ministry and live holy, free from evil things and thoughts.
The sermon ended with motivational words and prayers, which strengthened and touched the feelings of the entire committee who had worked hard to complete the Cirebon Bible Week service. The service ended sweetly. After the closing of the service, the committee distributed prizes to the winners of the 2025 Cirebon Bible Week competition.
The winners of the Junior High School-Senior High School Bible Quiz and Bible Verse Reading Competition received their prizes with great joy. Their struggles have paid off with sweet results.
Finally, all these moments were captured on camera, in a group photo session. The committee and all partners who supported the event hope that the Indonesian Bible Society (LAI) can continue to be a blessing through various other activities that will be held in the future.
