Recently, representatives from the Bible Institute in the Republic of Belarus traveled to the remote Chausy district in the Mogilev region, to provide support and share the light of faith with the local population, particularly families raising children with disabilities. The visit aimed to convey the message of God's love and the hope that Jesus Christ can bring to those who need it most.
Chausy is a small town with a population of about 10,000 people, located about 40 km from the center of Mogilev. Two local community organizations are actively serving there, providing ongoing assistance to children and youth with disabilities. One of these organizations is the "Belarusian Institute for Assistance to Children and Youth with Disabilities". Its leader, Irina Denisenko, was the host who invited representatives of the Bible Society to visit Chausy.
Irina is known to many for her kindness and concern for people in need. Like a good shepherd caring for his flock, he regularly visits families across the district to meet their needs and offer support in difficult times. Life for people with disabilities in the region is not always easy and faces many challenges. In recent years the number of autistic children in Chausy has increased. Meanwhile, poverty and limited access to essential services are also pressing issues for people with disabilities. These are all concerns for the local community.
During their visit, Bible Society staff, accompanied by Irina, visited several families and presented them with children's Bibles. For many parents and children, this gift was a pleasant surprise. "Our children have never received such beautiful Bibles before," said Irina. A widower raising three children, a parent of a large family, and a single mother struggling to make ends meet expressed sincere gratitude for the gifts. The parents mentioned that they would gladly read these books with their children. The Bible stories provide comfort and strengthen their faith. Over the course of several days in Chausy, more than 30 families received books through the Belarus Bible Society's humanitarian program.
This visit was an extension of the Belarus Bible Society's mission to take the Word of God to all states, particularly to poor and remote areas. The Bible Society staff involved in this ministry believe that the light of divine truth can help bring light in the midst of darkness, giving hope to many and introducing them to Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.
