A total of 16 GKI Sunter congregations participated in the Handwritten Bible Program (Altutang) from the Indonesian Bible Society (LAI) which was held on Sunday, April 6, 2025, after the 2nd General Service at 09.00 WIB. This program was held thanks to an official invitation from LAI which was welcomed by the GKI Sunter Congregation Council and coordinated by Mrs. Lince together with the local PIC, Mrs. Shirley Tumurang.
In the activity which lasted for four hours in the church, the participants aged 40 to 70 years copied the Book of Acts chapters 24 to 26, totaling 86 verses. Although some participants faced challenges such as shaking tables and limited vision, their enthusiasm did not diminish.
"Writing while imagining the process of writing the Bible in the past is truly meaningful. This is a very interesting experience, especially when writing the newly published 2nd edition of the New Translation of the Bible," said Mrs. Shirley. She also invited, "I want to invite women everywhere to participate in the handwritten Bible program from the Indonesian Bible Society."
A total of 25 people supported this activity through donations, and managed to collect funds of Rp 1,720,000. "We from the GKI Sunter congregation would like to thank you for this opportunity. May it be a blessing for God's congregation everywhere," said Mrs. Liesda, one of the participants.
The Altutang program is not just a copying activity, but also a means of contemplation and respect for the legacy of God's word. Let's join and support the Handwritten Bible Program from LAI, so that more souls can be blessed through copies of love written by hand and heart.
