February 15-16, 2019, a workshop was held to develop a "roadmap" for the services of the Indonesian Bible Institute (LAI) in the digital field. No less than 20 people participated in this forum, both internal and supporting partners of LAI.
The first day of discussion lasted from morning until midnight. The second day sharpened the results of the discussions that gave birth to the Vision, Mission, work culture values, strategies, implementation initiatives and operational plans. It was a marathon of work.
It was agreed that the vision for LAI's digital services towards 2030 is: "Digital Authentic Good News Provider with Excellent Service." The vision above implies a commitment to provide authentic content created by LAI together with the Churches in Indonesia. This authenticity is important because in the digital era it is too easy to change content and spread it at will. Excellent service is easily accessible, contains aspects: personally meaningful, trusted and brings the benefit of meeting God the Savior.
In short, the above vision is explained as follows:
With such a vision, it is hoped that the digital age can truly be a gift for LAI to spread the Word of God to all corners of the country.
Speed and initiative characterize the digital era. There are no more stories of loafing around while waiting for something. Work values in the digital age are significantly different from those of the print era.
Without breakthroughs and the courage to move quickly, the image of the colonial era dominates again.
Digital services do not abandon print services. They complement each other as a means of spreading the Good News throughout a country that still needs both. All must be creatively synergized. Innovation is a non-negotiable necessity and must continue. With the spirit of Sehati, Enthusiasm and Focus, LAI will triumph in the digital era, and will not return to the colonial era.
Greetings Bible for All.
