Strategic Collaboration with YPK-GMIBM to Build a Digital Adaptive Christian Education Ecosystem
Kotamobagu, North Sulawesi, 5 & 6 February 2026. The Indonesian Bible Institute (LAI) in collaboration with the GMIBM Christian Education Foundation (YPK) organised Digital Literacy Training for students and teachers in the YPK GMIBM school environment.
This activity took place over two days, namely on Thursday, 5 February 2026 for the student class at GMIBM Baithel Kopandak and Friday, 6 February 2026 for the teacher class at GMIBM Exodus Sinindian.
LAI's Digital Literacy Training for students and teachers in the YPK GMIBM school environment.
A total of 49 junior & senior high school students attended the training on the first day, while 42 teachers from PAUD, kindergarten, elementary school, junior high school to senior high school took part on the second day.
Answering the Challenges and Opportunities of the Digital Age
YPK GMIBM is currently a non-governmental organisation.
YPK GMIBM currently houses 46 school units spread across four districts and one city, with a total of 298 teachers and employees and 2,722 students. The majority of schools have internet access, and almost all teachers and students have digital devices.
These conditions present both great opportunities and challenges. Broad access to information can enrich the learning process, but without adequate literacy, technology also has the potential to disrupt learners' mental and spiritual development.
Through this training, LAI and YPK GMIBM are committed to equipping teachers and students to utilise technology effectively, creatively, and responsibly, especially in the context of education and service.
First Day: Students Learn Digital Content Production

Meanwhile, Rev Vince from LAI's Department of Digital Services and Development delivered a session on pre-production, covering content idea development, script writing, and creative copywriting.
One of the interesting moments was when the students utilised LAI's Interactive Bible (ALIN) platform as a reference source in their digital content creation.

The presentation was delivered by Victori E. Saetakela, Head of LAI's Digital Services and Development Department, who emphasised the importance of teachers transforming from mere technology users to digital learning creators.
Reggy Leo also enriched the session with the practice of creating applicable and contextualised digital learning media.
Creative Competition: Inspiring Enthusiasm
In closing, both classes held a creative competition session:
- 8 groups of students created Bible-based digital content
- >6 groups of teachers developed digital learning hooks and storytelling
Creative Competition: Inspiring Enthusiasm<
The competition session was hosted by Agnes Sirait, Content Creator at the Digital Services and Development Department of the Indonesian Bible Institute (LAI). The atmosphere was lively and energetic. Each group showed creativity and courage in exploring digital technology as a means of education and proclamation of biblical values.
On the first day, the student content creation competition was judged by Reggy Leo, Pdt. Vince from the LAI Digital Services and Development Department, and specifically by Pdt. Em Marlin, Chairman of YPK GMIBM. The presence of YPK leaders as judges confirms full support for strengthening the digital competence of the younger generation in the Christian school environment.
Meanwhile, on the second day, the storytelling competition and the preparation of class opening for digital learning sessions for teachers were judged by Ansye Wattimury, Head of LAI Manado Representative, together with Reggy Leo. The collaboration of judges from synods, educational foundations, and LAI reflects the joint seriousness in encouraging digital-based learning transformation.
The enthusiasm of the participants shows that digital literacy is not just a technical skill, but also a space for faith expression that is relevant to the times.
Sustainable Commitment
This training is part of LAI's ongoing efforts to expand digital ministry in various regions in Indonesia. The collaboration with YPK GMIBM is expected to be a strategic step to build a Christian education ecosystem that is adaptive to digital transformation, without losing the spiritual value and integrity of faith.
With this briefing, YPK GMIBM teachers and students are expected to be able to make technology not as a threat, but as a tool to build character, creativity, and a strong faith in the midst of digitalisation.
