LAI 2026 National Partner Meeting
Every year, Indonesian Bible Institute (LAI) volunteers gather at the Bible Centre Building (GPA) and share in the National Partner Gathering. This year, the gathering was held on Friday, 13 February 2026 and was attended by more than 70 volunteer partners from various cities in Indonesia.
The meeting began with a short worship service with the minister of the word, Fr. Frans Kristi Adi Prasetya, from the Youth Commission of the Indonesian Bishops' Conference (KWI). The theme of the sermon “You must feed them!” was taken from Luke 9:10-17.
Beginning the sermon, Fr. Kristi conveyed the digital era as a paradoxical era, an era where distance has died but personal closeness has become a rare commodity.
“ Digital advancement lulls us into personal enjoyment rather than social concern and we are stuck on the couch of Christianity," he said.” We sit and eat pop corn while following online worship (mass), online prayer. Everything we do is just to fulfil our personal pleasure. Technology is not used to serve but to fulfil personal desires," he continued.
Rm. Kristi further criticised the people of today who are caught up in the desire to accumulate as much profit as possible for themselves. “ What is important and main is my wealth, my achievements, and my power, ” he said.
The Word of God reminds us to follow Christ's command, humans live to live and bring good to others. “ You must feed them (Lk 9:13), ” He commands.
As people who have received happiness and joy from God we are invited to share God's goodness with others. This is also the duty of LAI volunteers and everyone involved in ministry with LAI. As people who have received the Good News and whose lives have been changed by it, we are invited to share and pass on the Good News to as many others as possible, in the languages and media they understand.
After a short worship service, Mrs Erna Yulianawati, as the Head of LAI's Communication and Partnership Department, presented a report on services and support received throughout 2025. There were many challenges faced throughout 2025 but through synergy with partners, LAI was able to run its ministry programmes well. After Ms Erna's report, LAI introduced to partners the Endowment Fund, which is LAI's partnership with Henan Asset Management.
After a break lunch, the partners divided into groups to share and discuss various ministry struggles in their respective areas. Each working group as well as the coordinators of One in Love (SDK) and Sahabat Alkitab (SA) also presented their ministry plans and activities that will be carried out throughout 2026. The whole activity was closed with the hymn "The Beauty of God's Love" sung by the staff of LAI's Department of Communication and Partnership.
We certainly pray that every plan that has been developed by LAI and its partners is pleasing to God and can be implemented well.
