Saturday, 18 September 2023, a "Bible Mission Gathering" was held at Hotel Kristal, Kupang in order to support the spread of the Bible and its parts throughout East Nusa Tenggara. This event was organised in collaboration with the LAI Support Working Group (KKPD) of LAI Mitra Kupang and volunteers from various churches.
A total of 150 people from church leaders, institutional leaders, and business people in Kupang attended and supported the fundraising night. Also in attendance was Rev Dr Merry L. Kolimon, who is the Chairperson of the Synod of the Gereja Masehi Injili di Timor (GMIT) as well as one of the Chairpersons of the Executive Board of the Indonesian Bible Society Foundation.
The activity began at 18.00 until 21.00, starting with a Welcome from the Chairperson of the LAI Mitra Kupang KKPD Rev. Robert Litelnoni, S. Th. Then Rev. Delviana Krispusa Snae, S.Th.. M.Pd.K., gave a brief reflection. The event became more lively with the presence of the Nazareth Vocal Group from GMIT Ebenhaezer Oeba who presented praises through their melodious voices.
On that occasion, Mr. Yoram Bang, one of the committee members of the LAI Mitra Kupang MPA, shared his testimony about the Bible distribution through the Satu Dalam Kasih programme that had just been conducted on 10-16 September 2023 in North Central Timor District. He shared his testimony and invited partners to support the programme by filling out the Faith Promise Form. This pledge form aims to garner support so that the Bible can be spread to all corners of the archipelago, especially in the East Nusa Tenggara region.
On Sunday, 17 September 2023, one day before the eventBible Mission Gathering was held, LAI also had the opportunity to visit several churches in Kupang to share LAI's ministry programmes, especially the Satu Dalam Kasih Programme, which is a free Bible distribution programme for God's people who live in remote areas and experience economic difficulties. The congregation is invited to care and support LAI's ministry to share kindness to the brothers and sisters who long for the presence of the Good News in their midst.
Through these various activities, more and more people can know and support the One in Love programme and other LAI ministry programmes, so that more and more people in remote areas can feel the joy of the presence of the Bible in their midst.(ady)
