JAKARTA – The Indonesian Bible Society (LAI) is once again holding its eagerly anticipated biennial event, the LAI Family Gathering 2026, on Friday (3 July 2026). Under the theme ‘One Heart, One LAI Family’, the event is specifically designed to strengthen bonds and relationships amongst staff and their extended families.

 

​To accommodate the geographical spread of work locations, the event was organised according to office location. Staff at the LAI Head Office and Printing Works celebrated this occasion together at the Taman Safari Indonesia nature reserve in Bogor. Meanwhile, five LAI branch offices located in Surabaya, Medan, Makassar, Manado and Jayapura held similar events simultaneously, adapting the venues to their respective regions.

 

​High levels of enthusiasm at Taman Safari Indonesia

 

​The festivities at Taman Safari Indonesia were attended by 587 participants, comprising LAI staff, their partners and their children. This figure reflects the extraordinary enthusiasm of the wider LAI family to unwind whilst fostering a sense of togetherness.

 

​The programme began with an exciting adventure viewing the collection of various animals up close. Travelling by vehicle, participants enjoyed the unique experience of interacting with animals roaming freely without conventional enclosures, just as they would in their natural habitats.

 

​After thoroughly exploring the wilderness, all participants gathered to enjoy a convivial atmosphere and a shared lunch. The warm atmosphere continued into the afternoon with a free-time session. Until 18:00 WIB, the participants made the most of their time to explore the various rides and educational shows available at the Taman Safari complex.

 

​Lasting Joy and New Hope

 

​“On the whole, everyone who attended was overjoyed. Even several days after the event had finished, the euphoria was still palpable and they continued to share stories with one another about the excitement of the previous day,” said one of the organising committee representatives.

 

​The success of the event was also evident from the flood of requests to the organising committee for group photos, demonstrating just how memorable the occasion was for every family.

 

​Through this joyful moment of togetherness, the LAI Board and management hope that the spirit of ‘Sehati Keluarga LAI’ (LAI Family in Harmony) will not remain merely a slogan at tourist attractions. It is hoped that this event will strengthen synergy and collaboration amongst staff, which will ultimately have a positive impact on improving the quality of LAI’s services to the public in the future.
