Justified in His Work

For an inventor, it is a matter of pride if the design or drawing that he made can be realized according to its original function and design. God, the Creator of the universe, has created humans in His image and likeness. Thus, God created us to fulfill His intentions and purposes, namely to glorify His name and realize goodness in the universe. Unfortunately, we rebelled against God. Sin became inevitable. So driven by His love for His human creation, He sent His Son to save us from the power of sin. Through the Lord Jesus Christ, His Son, God grants forgiveness of sins and cleanses us from sin.

The picture of Jesus' salvation is translated in various ways that make it easier for the limitations of human logic to reach it. The writer of the letter to the Hebrews tries to describe God's salvation in Jesus by placing Christ as the High Priest. Unlike the high priests that have existed so far, Jesus is not only a mediator but also the atoning sacrifice himself. The work that Jesus did renews the practices and rituals that have existed so far. In worship in the tabernacle, the Israelites were mostly only able to witness the High Priest making sacrificial offerings in the holy of holies. It is stated in Hebrews 9:9-10 that the offerings and sacrifices offered could not completely sanctify those who offered them because there were limitations in them because in the end everything was just an external regulation that only applied until there was a renewal. When was that renewal? When Jesus Christ came as the High Priest.

Jesus is described as having passed through "a greater and more perfect tent, not made with hands - meaning one that is not part of this creation - and he has entered once for all into the Holy Place." Ritual language is used to describe the work of Jesus. He has carried out the role of the High Priest by entering the holy place that only the High Priest may enter and sacrificing his own life or blood as a source of eternal deliverance. That is the meaning of God's sacrifice and the work of redemption that has justified us.

Bible friends, at this time the most important thing for us is to respond appropriately to God's work of redemption. One way is to create a life full of gratitude and focus your life solely on His will. He frees us from the punishment that we should bear, so it is only fitting that this freedom is used well and realized through everyday life. Hopefully our gratitude can be realized concretely by fighting the tendency to sin.
