In our limitations, God uses others to confirm, remind, and encourage us to live out His calling.
For the third time the LORD called Samuel, but Samuel still thought it was the voice of Eli the priest calling him. For he had never heard the voice of the LORD. As a priest who had served in the temple since his youth, Eli realized that the voice Samuel heard was the voice of the LORD. Therefore, Eli told Samuel that if the voice called again, he should answer, "Speak, LORD, your servant is listening."
Friends of the Bible, in our ignorance, confusion, doubt, fear, foolishness, and in all our limitations, we are often unable to hear or recognize the voice of God coming to us. That's why God, apart from speaking through His word (the Bible) that we read or through the sermons that we listen to, can also use the voices of our hearts and the people around us to show us His way, to make His will and prohibitions known to us, to call us to work with Him, or even to rebuke us when we are going the wrong way. So good and so loved are we that God uses many ways just to draw us close to Him and respond to His loving call. Be thankful for the people He uses to bring us to know Him.
Like Samuel, when we have been told that God is calling us then the action we should take is to answer His call.
