God has not called us to be idle but to labor in His service
Samuel received the call of the LORD around the age of twelve, he was very young. He was asleep in his room in one of the rooms of the temple. This call to Samuel was the fulfillment of what was said in chapter 2, because of the wickedness of Eli's sons and Eli's neglect, God "removed" them from the temple ministry, appointing Samuel as their successor. Samuel himself heard God call him three times but he did not recognize His voice.
Friends of the Bible, each of us is called by God in different ways and for the purpose of doing different works, according to the gifts He has given to each person. We need sensitivity to hear God's voice. His voice can come through His word or through the voices of those around us, it can also come through every event that happens. We need the sensitivity to know which one is really God's voice and which one is our own heart's desire. This is the purpose of God giving us salvation, which is to live to serve Him.
Let's train ourselves to hear God's voice and do what He wants
