Social Media Wise Seminar, Pangkalpinang Bible Week 2025.
After conducting Bible Week in Sungailiat on September 5-7, 2025, LAI held another similar event in Pangkalpinang. Activities began from September 9-11, 2025.
Today, on September 9, 2025, the same enthusiasm that happened in Sungailiat was felt in Pangkalpinang. Since 8:30 am, high school students from various schools in Pangkalpinang have surrounded GBI Pulau Bangka, the location of the activity. Some came to the museum exhibition, while others were looking at various interesting publications from LAI.
At 10:15 am, the "Wise Social Media in the Age of AI" Seminar began. A total of 178 teenagers had registered for this activity.
Agus Setiawan Silaban (Pastor Agus) led the event, opening the interaction with a worship song titled "Connected". Father Marcel Gabriel opened the event with a solemn prayer, starting the spirit of togetherness of learning to create content.
Not long after, Rev. Geget Elite Sucining Hyang (Mbak Geget) began the material, showing a presentation that spoiled the eyes. She spoke straightforwardly about digital literacy and social media. "When we watch or create content, we need to pay attention to integrity! Both as viewers and creators", she explained. He then continued, "In this era of information dissemination, we should not be easily fooled by content that relies on click bait! We see it from the beginning as if it is about to convey a certain idea, but it turns out that it does not contain it until the end. That's the same as lying. That means no integrity!"
According to Mbak Geget, in this era many people are famous only because of the pity of the audience. Good content should be content that comes from our thoughts. One form of thought arises from unrest.
After explaining at length about how to be wise on social media, Mbak Geget explained about Artificial Intelligence (AI), which is increasingly being used today. However, she told the participants that the use of AI in creating content must also be accompanied by our understanding and intelligence as humans. Therefore, prompting is important to get relevant explanations.
After that, came the awaited moment: content creation practice! Mbak Geget explained that in this content creation process, the idea of the content comes from our thoughts, while the explanation comes from ALIN, the Interactive Allitab application made by LAI.
At first, many were not familiar with the mechanism of using Mbak Geget-style content. But eventually everyone understood. "The important thing is the material or concern first, then we can continue to analyze it in the ALIN application!", said Mbak Geget to some children who looked difficult. The best content creations from the children will be selected. The atmosphere became lively, as participants danced, ran, and even gave speeches to create content.
Finally, it was 1:00 p.m. when the deadline for content submission arrived. The atmosphere became tense as the announcement of the best content was about to be read out
"Third place... Goes to ...." Father Agus tried to announce the winner of the competition while breaking the silence.
A round of applause was heard after the number 1 best content was announced. Finally, the prizes were received, and soon the activity was over. Ending with a group photo, all participants enthusiastically dispersed, getting acquainted and socializing with their new colleagues in this place. Enthusiasm and excitement could be seen on the faces of the children who were ready to work on content, in order to spread the word of God and be a blessing.
