Still in commemoration of the 70th Anniversary of the Indonesian Bible Institute (LAI), Bible Week is being held for the seventh and final time this year. GKI Elizabeth, Biak, Papua, is trusted to host the Bible Week which will take place from October 31 to November 2, 2024. The committee has prepared a series of activities well, including an exhibition of Bible objects, an exhibition of LAI products, seminars, workshops, competitions, and Revival Services (KKR). The Chairman of the Biak Bible Week Committee, Mr. Ronald Rumbino, said that although the formation of the committee only began in the second week of October, preparations were made to the maximum, such as sending letters to various church denominations in Biak, distributing invitations to schools, and installing billboards on a number of Biak city roads.
The Bible Week Opening Service marked the beginning of the whole series of activities. The service was attended by representatives of leaders from various church denominations, Synod and Klasis Working Boards, pastors and assemblies, as well as congregations of various ages, both adults and children. Rev. Bruri M. Wutwensa, M.Si., delivered a sermon on the benefits of God's word in accordance with 2 Timothy 3:16. The official opening of the Bible Week was marked by the sound of tifa struck by Rev. Michael Kapissa from the Synod Worker Board (BPS) of GKI in Tanah Papua Region III, who also invited all church members to actively participate in every activity until the last day.
