On Saturday, 5 August 2023, the Bible Mission Gathering 2023 was held at the Harris Hotel & Convention on Sunset Road, Bali, to support the distribution of 5,000 copies of *The Good News for Children* (KBUA) in Bali and the surrounding areas. 

The event was organised through a collaboration between LAI and its partner, the LAI Mitra Bali Support Mobilisation Working Group (KKPD), along with volunteers from various churches. The invitation was well received, with nearly 70 invited guests in attendance, comprising church leaders, heads of organisations and business partners based in Bali.

Beginning at 18.30 WITA and ending at 21.00 WITA, the event featured a reflection on the Word of God by Rev. Ir. Timotius Arifin. This was followed by the completion of the ‘Pledge of Faith’ form, aimed at gathering support from the guests in attendance. The event was also enlivened by various performances by children, ranging from dances by the Bali dance troupe to a solo by I Gede Rehuel Widhi Setiawan, accompanied by the beautiful music of the Cherubim String. 

On this occasion, the Chair of the KKPD LAI Mitra Bali, Rev. Dr Victor Hamel, called on everyone to join in supporting this programme to help children in Bali come to know God from an early age through the KBUA, a Bible specifically designed for children aged 9–12.

At the end of the event, it was announced that pledge forms had been collected to support the provision of 590 copies of the KBUA, meaning that a further 4,410 copies are still required for the future.

Following on from this, on Sunday 6 August 2023, the LAI team, together with KKPD Mitra Bali, continued to present this programme to eight interdenominational churches in Bali. It is hoped that, going forward, many more people will support this programme so that children may grow to love the Bible even more and come to know God more closely.
