On Tuesday, 25 July 2023, the Indonesian Bible Society (LAI) attended the worship service and celebrations marking the 73rd anniversary of the BPK Penabur Foundation. The event, held at the SMAK 1 Penabur Auditorium in Tanjung Duren, West Jakarta, proceeded with dignity and great joy. 

At the same event, BPK Penabur  specifically presented a donation of Rp 600,000,000,00 (six hundred million rupiah), which will be used to support one of LAI’s programmes, namely the LAI ‘One in Love’ Programme. 

In his address, the Chairman of BPK Penabur Jakarta, Mr Ir. Kenny Lim, expressed his gratitude for the long-standing partnership between BPK Penabur and LAI. He made this remark because, in his view, through LAI’s ministry, BPK Penabur is able to participate in and extend its mission work, spreading the Good News even to the remotest areas by distributing Bibles free of charge. 

The General Chairperson of LAI, Rev. Dr Henriette T Hutabarat Lebang, M.A., expressed her profound gratitude for the support provided by BPK Penabur to LAI’s ministry. Furthermore, the LAI Chairperson emphasised that this support is of great significance, particularly for God’s people in the far corners of the archipelago who are currently in need of Bibles. 

On the same occasion, the General Secretary of LAI, Dr Sigit Triyono, together with the Chairperson of LAI, symbolically presented the TB-2 Bible to the Chairperson of the BPK Penabur Foundation, Mr Adri Lazuardi, and the Chairperson of BPK Penabur Jakarta, Mr Ir Kenny Lim.
