The life we live is like a wheel that keeps rolling. At one point we will encounter the joys of life. Not long after, life can bring us to the most severe challenges and struggles. As God's people, the most important question is whether we can always praise His greatness and direct our hope to Him, the Source of help.
That is what the psalmist reflects in the passage we read. He was once in a position of despair. His enemies rejoiced in his destruction. Nevertheless, God was still pleased to save him. In fact, God's power was seen in His will to lift the psalmist from the invincible world of the dead. He was downcast but death did not claim him.
In the face of adversity and threats, the psalmist kept his eyes fixed on God. It was to the Lord alone that he cried out and begged for mercy. For this reason, he always wanted to thank God for His never-ending wisdom and goodness. So he was determined to dedicate his entire life to God and committed to glorifying God forever. The weeping that she had experienced in the past, God had turned into dancing. Sadness no longer accompanied her but had been replaced with shouts of joy because of His deliverance.
Bible friends, let us realize that our short existence in this world is actually a gift from God. Problems and struggles may come and go, but God is always present and does not allow destruction to find us. Like a lament that turns into a dance, so is God's help that always comes and brings joy to our lives.
