Sometimes in life we may encounter people who try to bring us down, for whatever reason. It is not uncommon for us to be crushed under the pressure. But one thing is for sure, it is Allah's protection that frees us from the various pressures in life.

Our reading this time opens with the psalmist's description of a man crushed by intense pressure. In fact, the enemy's pressure seems so strong that he almost falls down. In that situation God came to his rescue. From there comes the testimony that God is the source of his strength. In the midst of it all, the psalmist seemed to testify to God's love and power by stating that victory is a necessity in the Lord. God is like a warrior who gives uncontested orders and strives to bring victory. God acts mightily (v.16). The psalmist wants to be a witness to all the liberating actions of God.

It is interesting to look at verse 18, the psalmist realizes all the hard events that God presents along with all the challenges that come are God's way of chastening His people. Not to destroy but to educate God's people to rely on God alone. He finally realized that life will come in His provision. It is only fitting that God's people should give thanks to Him.

Friends of the Bible, maybe we have also experienced a feeling of helplessness because we were pushed from various sides so strongly. Do not be afraid because God will surely help us, our duty is to give thanks for His deliverance and be a witness to His actions. This belief gives us the strength to fight & face everything that becomes an obstacle in life.
