God's intentions and will are something that often surpasses the limits of human thought. One thing we need to truly believe is His will and desire that always wants peace and goodness to happen in the lives of His people. One thing we need to build is a firm faith in God and trust Him always that behind everything that happens there is a God who works goodness through everything.
The Psalmist reflects on his people's journey which has been full of various dynamics. They were often crushed by challenges, and often fell into rebellion against God. However, God never abandoned the Israelites. In fact, the disregarded and discarded nation eventually became a nation that showed other nations the love and work of God. The psalmist uses the metaphor of a stone, which was discarded by the builders because it was considered worthless, but became the cornerstone that determined the precision of a building. This was not because of Israel's greatness in itself, but because God lifted them up and exalted them. He demonstrated His love for Israel that restored and delivered.
Therefore one thing that should be the response of people and nations alike is to glorify the name of the Lord who came to bring salvation to the world. Furthermore, in that awareness, thanks and praise are offered to Him. His love truly transcends all the fears and worries that often surround humanity.
Friends of the Bible, through today's devotional we are reminded to always maintain faith and hope in God. If unpleasant events and experiences happen, do not rush to blame the situation or even accuse Him of being guilty. Instead, praise Him who will always work goodness and salvation. He is the God who has the power to change everything, even things that are considered unchangeable by our limited mindset. So be open to the possibilities of God's work and do not compartmentalize His work based on what we think is good.
