Some time back, it seems that the phrase that "Justice is increasingly rare to find in this country" is increasingly heard. We see criminals dredging the nation's wealth, actually cooperating with authorities at various levels so that they escape the legal consequences that await them. After all, if you still have to accept it, at most only half the sentence. Meanwhile, those who are right are blamed for various reasons just because they disagree with the authorities. Will expecting justice in this country be like the hump yearning for the moon, or can we still strive to realize it in the light of our understanding as Christians.
In our reading, wisdom is again personified. She calls everyone to come and listen to her teachings that bring understanding. What wisdom says brings intelligence that leads everyone to the fear of the Lord and the knowledge of Him. For ultimately the source of wisdom is God alone (v. 6).
This time wisdom from God is again juxtaposed with right morality. Those who participate in the teaching of wisdom will understand truth, justice, and honesty. So in the perspective of a believer's understanding, a wise and clever person will certainly keep his morality always directed to the right teaching. Wisdom will keep one from falling into the path of evil. Apparently, the path of evil is the path taken by those who are deceitful, unjust, and willing to use all means for their own benefit.
Let's take the way of wisdom that will lead us to righteousness and justice. The way of evil may seem tempting. We accept all the comforts of life, but remember that what lasts is only a right relationship with God. Injustice may show itself openly, but let us pray as the word today says, "for it is the upright who will inhabit the land, and the unrighteous who will remain there.
