In living our lives as human beings, we realise that worries often creep into our lives. Various pressures and struggles that come and go are also the triggers of all these worries. Today we will look at the advice in Proverbs about dealing with worry. Interestingly, Proverbs 12 tries to encourage us not to focus on these worries but to strive to be righteous.
At least that is what is stated in Proverbs 12:21, where it is shown that one's existence as a righteous person is determined by the direction of life in the power and will of Wisdom. That is the direction that the righteous want to go. If in the process, all the blessings and protection of God are felt, then it becomes something that helps strengthen the footsteps of the righteous. The righteous also find their direction and purpose in life. Like a shepherd who has found pasture for his flock.
Therefore, the existence of a human being should be directed towards these things. Thus, unlike the wicked who often lose their way, the righteous are always on the path set by Him. In the process, worries no longer settle in the heart. Instead, one's footsteps will be strengthened through God's wisdom that continues to shape his life.
Friends of the Bible, worry is a natural response from a human being. But today we are reminded that what is far more important is to submit to God's teaching and live according to His wisdom. Let us learn to surrender our lives to God. Learn to live righteously according to His word and will. That is part of our effort to face the various worries in life.
Facing worries for a believer is inseparable from his submission to God's wisdom.
