KBRN, Biak: The Indonesian Bible Institute (LAI) in collaboration with the South Biak GKI Klasis Working Board held the Biak 2024 Bible Week. In a press conference held on Wednesday (30/10/2024), LAI Anniversary Publication Coordinator, Hizkia Yosurandri explained that the Bible Week activity is one of the events from the 70th anniversary of the Indonesian Bible Institute which has been held throughout 2024. Biak Bible Week 2024 is the seventh city Bible Week and the final one in 2024.

“ This Bible Week will be held as one of the events of the 70th anniversary of the Indonesian Bible Institute. Some areas that have organized Bible Week 2024 include Balikpapan, Mataram, Medan, Tobelo. Some of the activities carried out are Bible Socialization and Seminars, competitions and Bible museum exhibitions to introduce Bible objects," he said.

“ When we visited Biak several times, there were actually many longings of the people, both pastors and congregations, about how we get closer to the Word of God and their longing to understand more about the second edition of the New Translation of the Bible. Because areas in West Biak, East Biak to North Biak have not been in contact at all with the information of the New Second Edition of the Bible," he said.

In addition, Chairman of the Biak Bible Week 2024 committee Ronald Rumbino said, the Biak Bible Week 2024 committee has accommodated all church denominations in Biak Numfor and the Catholic church, and has been socialized to church leaders to be announced to their respective congregations. As well as writing and giving invitations to Christian schools in Biak Numfor, both Christian Education Foundations and Catholic Foundations from elementary to high school levels, so that they can accommodate students to visit the Bible Exhibition and the existing Bible Museum Exhibition.

In the Biak 2024 Bible Week activities, Bible and Self-Development Seminars, Digital Workshops, LAI Product Exhibitions, LAI Museum Collection Exhibitions, Revival Services (KKR) and various competitions about the Bible for children, youth and adults were held. Biak Bible Week 2024 activities, open to the public, will be held from October 31 to November 2, 2024 in the GKI Elizabeth Aibekobfuar Dolog Biak Church area.

It is hoped that people from all church denominations and communities in Biak Numfor district can attend to visit Biak Bible Week 2024.
