Have you ever, in the course of your life of faith, reflected on the worship you do? Worship is actually a form of devotion and gratitude for all the works that God has done in the universe. Worship is also praise to Him and all His provisions.
Singing and praising is what the psalmist expresses in the passage we read today. He invites the people to praise Him. To give thanks with the harp, to sing with the ten-stringed psaltery. Both were musical instruments that were commonly used in worship at that time. It is likely that the verses we read today were the praises of Israelite worship. The reason for the praise was none other than the existence of God and His works. Unlike us, we usually praise God when He fulfills our requests. The praise initiated by the psalmist is based on the existence of God alone who graces the earth with His word and His faithfulness that stretches on forever.
Then let the whole earth come to Him. Do right before God by loving justice and law as a form of respect for His work. It is fitting that we fear and tremble before the LORD because the whole universe was made by him.
Bible friends, let us direct our lives to Him alone. Praise Him through all of our lives. We are often fooled into thinking that we only praise Him when our wants and needs are fulfilled. Whereas the main reason we praise and worship Him is because of His steadfast love and God's beautiful and excellent plan.
