In our frame of mind and faith, it is easy to state that Allah is the all-powerful God who created everything. But sometimes when life encounters storms, that faith is lost. So we need to build a relationship with God by remembering His works and love.
That is what the psalmist is trying to emphasize in the passage we read. He invites the people to give thanks to God. This pattern of praise is repeated several times in chapter 107. It emphasizes that gratitude is the basic starting point of our relationship, which is not only expressed personally but also in the fellowship of believers. One thing that we are thankful for is God's power that surpasses everything so that any condition can be created by Him. In verses 31-32, the psalmist tells us that even landscapes that are untouched by man, He can easily change. So no matter how difficult the conditions we experience, God has the power to change them for the better.
Then God's people throughout the ages are invited to remain faithful to God. He is always on the side of those who are marginalized and facing suffering in their lives. Then the psalmist concludes his verse with an invitation to be mindful of the LORD's steadfast love.
Friends of the Bible, you may be facing a tough struggle right now. Be thankful because today, God reminds us that no matter what happens, God has the power to bring restoration and change. Lean on and hope in God alone. Only in God comes eternal help that far exceeds our understanding.
