Digital Literacy Seminar: Creating Content with Kak Ammho (Soni Mongan)

A crowd of school children aged between junior high and senior high school came to the BPK Penabur Cirebon School Library. That afternoon, at around 15.00 WIB, a Digital Literacy Seminar was held with the theme Being Bright in the Digital World. Initially surprised to hear the news that most of the seminar participants were school children, the committee and resource person, Bro Soni Mongan (Ammho) were even more challenged and enthusiastic. It turned out that during the event, there were funny and unexpected incidents. 'Who here is Christian? Come on, lead a prayer!'. Suddenly the room became silent, not expecting Bro Ammho's question. One of the participants named Tia finally volunteered to lead the prayer, starting the event.

Various materials were delivered by Kak Ammho, related to the importance of implementing the 4 pillars of digital literacy, including being competent (using technology), safe (in maintaining personal social media), culture (creating content and interacting well), and ethics (being respectful, polite, and good in using social media).

Not infrequently, Kak Ammho threw jokes containing moral messages that also invited laughter, refreshing the seminar atmosphere. In addition, the participants consisting of teenage students and teachers seemed to enjoy the entire presentation made by Kak Soni Mongan.

At around 5 pm, Kak Ammho invited the Seminar participants to practice the material presented, namely creating content. Practice is only allowed in the BPK Penabur Cirebon library area. The participants looked so excited and enthusiastic looking for beautiful spots and good angles in order to create interesting visual content works. Kak Ammho explained that the work does not have to be a video made with sophisticated production techniques. The important thing is that the work must be able to convey the message of God's Word that can be memorized. Finally, after almost 30 minutes of work, the participants returned to the main room to have their work assessed.

After the distribution of door prizes through a draw led by Rev. Bobby Hendrawan as the moderator, it was finally time to assess the content created during the practical session of this seminar.

Claricha Cinta, a student from SMA 2 Cirebon finally won the best visual content award at the workshop session.

Exactly at 5:30, the event finally closed, the participants looked happy and excited to create content that would bless their social media. One of the participants named Tia, stated that this was the first time she attended a seminar without falling asleep. Not only because the presenter was able to deliver the teachings, but also the discussion was so interesting that she took notes of important parts of the materials presented.

Through this seminar, it is hoped that all young people will not only be wiser in using social media, but can also be a light, conveying the values of God's Word through social media content.
