Based on data from the Directorate General of Population and Civil Registration in June 2021, the Christian population in Bengkulu Province is 32,972 people, and Catholics are 8,060 people. This is a part that needs to be blessed through the concern of the Indonesian Bible Institute (LAI) to carry out Bible Week activities which have also been carried out in other regions in Indonesia, of course LAI needs to work together with churches, schools, and local institutions or governments.

Lembaga Alkitab Indonesia (LAI) is once again addressing God's people through Bible Week, this time taking place in the city of Bengkulu at GEKISIA Church, Bengkulu City and Pantekosta di Indonesia Church, Bengkulu. This year LAI plans to celebrate its 70th anniversary by addressing 8 cities in Indonesia through Bible Week, and Bengkulu is the third city after Balikpapan and Siberut, Mentawai Islands. The Bible Week in Bengkulu with the theme "Bible for All" lasted for 3 days from 01 May to 03 May 2024 with various series of activities. In the series there has been a Bible museum exhibition and a 3-day exhibition of LAI products and publications, seminars: "Digital Literacy, Socialisation of the New Translation 2 Bible, Seminar for Sunday school teachers, competitions: Bible Verse Memorisation, Colouring, Drawing, Bible Quiz, also this time there will be a short drama competition in groups.

The Bengkulu Bible Week was officially opened by Ibu Mastiur Purba S.Ag as the Coordinator / Guide of Christian Communities of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Bengkulu Province. Ibu Mastiur, representing the Director General of Christian Religious Affairs of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia in Bengkulu, expressed her gratitude to LAI for the Bible Week programme held in the city of Bengkulu, "it is a very good programme and blesses the people", she said in her opening remarks this morning.

Pdt. Saut Maruli Panggabean, M. Th as His servant brought a meditation through 2 Timothy 3: 16 TB2, is a "real fact" that indeed the Bible is powerful and cannot be defeated by science or motivators out there, because there is no motivator (advisor) that is far greater than the ALKITAB ” said the Pastor in his sermon.

Today, 01 May, Bengkulu City rained relentlessly until night, but the rain did not deter the people of God who wanted to meet with LAI, as seen from the church seats that were filled to the brim by the congregation who attended the opening worship series of Bible Week and the "Wise Internet" seminar.

The Digital Literacy Seminar presented by Pastor Geget Elite Sucining Hyang, S.Si. (Theol) was attended by 100 participants. The seminar, which lasted for 3 hours, invited young people in particular to be productive in creating useful content and bringing Good News to those who see it on their personal social media. The seminar was closed with a question and answer session and also an introduction to the Memra Application by the LAI Digital Department team.
