Human beings are the only living things that can contemplate and reflect on their existence in the world. It happens because we are always moved to depend our existence on the process of finding meaning. The reason why we live and struggle through life in the world. Unfortunately, in a world distorted by religion, a mixture of values, viewpoints, and technological developments. The meaning of life often becomes so shallow. It is narrowed down to just the fulfillment of desires based on the ownership of material objects. So it is not uncommon today that many people are willing to mortgage morality and ethics just for the sake of power and wealth. Where is the true meaning of life?

Through our reading of today's scripture, the psalmist reminds us that the value of one's life depends and lies entirely on his relationship with God, the Creator of the Universe. Man's relationship with His creator occurs in his obedience and submission to His Torah or commandments. The psalmist even explains that God's word is steadfast and eternal in the world. The eternity of His word continues to be embedded in the hearts of the righteous from generation to generation. Destruction will meet those who do not submit to His word. Remembering His word means the coming of life (v. 93).

The psalmist goes on to express his reverence and love for God's word. He is willing to meditate on God's word all day long. The psalmist's love for God's word made him live with wisdom in living life. Forever, God's word is his guide. A life based on God's word enables one to recognize what is good and what is not.

Friends of the Bible, many people are lost in their search for the meaning of life because they consider things outside of God as their purpose in life. Let us return & live His word with determination. It is only in God that we find the true meaning of life. The determination to obey and follow His word makes us live wisely and can distinguish what is good and what is not.
