The relationship between God and man in Christianity is understood as a living relationship of interaction and communication with God. Unfortunately, in this modern age, communication with Him feels like a mere formality. Swallowed by the noise of the times and the crush of daily struggles, we seem to forget to greet Him in earnest. Prayer and worship, which are the means to address Him, gradually become so dry. So, living communication with Him eventually becomes a necessity.
Our reading this time is a Psalm classified as a psalm of praise. The psalmist calls for and invites all the people to praise God. In fact, in Psalm 134:1-3,
God's goodness is the spark of all the praise of His people (3). God's actions can be traced back to the very beginning when He chose Jacob and Israel to be His beloved possession. God thus established Himself as the only creator who transcends the gods known to man. His wondrous deeds transcend all sides of the earth, even those unreachable by man. Thus, the psalmist describes the works of God that take place in the heavens and the earth, in the seas and all the oceans.
Friends of the Bible, let us praise God always through words and actions that we manifest in our daily lives. Greeting God with all our being gives birth to a living communication with Him. We often forget that God is a living person and not just a concept made up by humans. He is always with His people in all the streams of life that mankind goes through.
