Carefully reading our passage this time, it really presents a raging feeling. Every day we are bombarded with news that reveals the sad reality of this republic. Whether it is corruption committed by various officials from various levels throughout the country, conflicts in various corners, to unreasonable crimes committed by one person to another. How do we respond? Can we endure to always walk on the right path in the midst of all these crises?"
The psalmist's verse is a condemnation of the few who persist in their ignorance. They loudly proclaim that "there is no God". The result is that these foolish people freely commit various frauds. Those who are reasonable should know and recognize their God and do as He pleases. Yet God looked upon the earth and found no sons of men of understanding.
The psalmist points out the reality. Only people spend their time oppressing others and taking the "bread" out of their hands. To this group, God will enforce His justice. Those who wallow in their ignorance will be surrounded and shamed, even rejected by God (v. 6). In contrast, the righteous who live godly lives will be saved and restored by God so that they will experience the joy of God.
Now the choice is ours. Do we fall into ignorance as shown by those around us, or continue to live godly lives according to His word? Let us firmly reject all temptations that come our way and strive to live godly lives according to His wisdom.
